And NOW… mortgage rates are at a 50-year low. And some experts predict that home prices could go even lower – or at least not go higher in the short term. Last week I had an amazing time at the 1010 Midtown Cocktail Hour Tweet Up. The event was filled with social media savvy Atlanta professionals who were there to network, tour condos and sample tasty morsels from restaurants close to this Atlanta live, work, play community.

Peachtree epitomizes the sights and sounds of the city and the stretch through midtown is my favorite. I was reminded of this pulling up to the 1010 Midtown building. After checking in with the concierge, I walked to the elevator which transported me to the 21st floor and the luxury of the condos in this building.

The 21st floor of the Atlanta high-rise contains the decorated models, each showcasing a different Atlanta decor store. Several restaurants of the 12th & Midtown development were set up in the models and the aroma of different foods wafted into the hallway. Standing on the balcony of a beautifully decorated condo, noshing on eggplant crostini from Noon and gazing over Peachtree at dusk made me feel on top of the world.

The buffet spread from RiRa made an already comfortable unit feel sublimely homey. The Irish comfort food, explained to be by a gracious Irish hostess, was delicious and filling; perfect for the chilly evening.

The spacious condo featuring Ra Sushi cunningly displayed how large and effective the open kitchens are. Ra Sushi had two types of maki to savor, and since I hate cucumbers, I opted for the roll with tuna and a sliver of lotus root perched on top.

Another of my favorite rooms featured Two Friends Imports, who brought Haamonii Smooth to share. The contrast of artfully lit clear bottles against the dark tones of wood and granite showcased the amazing design of the condo. I had a lemon fizz and the neutral flavors were a perfect accompaniment to show off the smoothness of Haamonii. It is definitely a beverage worth seeking out.

The evening proved that 1010 Midtown is a luxurious place to live and play. If the beauty of the condos and the unbeatable views from the floor to ceiling windows doesn’t convince you, then the proximity to so many unique restaurants and venues will.

Sovereign, one of Atlanta’s most luxurious mixed-use towers located in the heart of Buckhead has recently announced that nearly 90% of its commercial real estate has been leased.

Developed by Regent Partners, the Sovereign building includes more than one-half million square feet of Class A office and retail space. The exclusive cocktail party and fashion show was an invite only event held for Sovereign residents and prospective buyers highlighted the new winter lines currently on display at Neiman Marcus and gave attendees the opportunity to see Sovereign’s newest model home designed by award winning interior designer Barbara Westbrook.

While models showed off the latest winter fashions in an informal fashion show, guests were able to mingle between the 28th and 43rd floors, delighting in both Westbrook’s stunning designs and the terrific party downstairs on the Amenity Level.

With its clean lines, spacious feel and breathtaking views of Atlanta, the Amenity Level was the perfect setting for the event.
